Lessons are available seven days a week, with evening and weekend scheduling to fit busy schedules.

The SGI 6×6 Course — Saskatchewan’s Mandatory Driver Education

In Saskatchewan, new drivers aged 16 or older are required to complete the SGI 6×6 mandatory driver education course before taking their Class 5 road test. The course consists of 6 hours of in-class instruction and 6 hours of in-car training. Upon successful completion, students receive an official SGI Certificate, which must be presented to the examiner on road test day. Universal Driving School offers the in-class portion online via Zoom on most Sundays from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, making it convenient for students with weekday commitments.

Online In-Class Sessions via Zoom

Universal Driving School offers the 6-hour in-class portion of the SGI 6×6 course online through Zoom, almost every Sunday from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM. This allows students across Regina to complete the classroom component from home without the need to travel. Following the online class, the 6-hour in-car sessions are scheduled according to the student’s availability.

Brush-Up Lessons for Road Test Preparation

For drivers who already hold their SGI learner’s licence and want targeted practice before their Class 5 road test, Universal Driving School offers brush-up lessons. These sessions focus on the specific skills each student needs — whether that’s parallel parking, highway confidence, intersection technique, or running through the full road test route. Brush-up lessons are paid per hour upfront by e-transfer.

Refresher Course for Licensed Drivers

Universal Driving School’s Refresher Course is designed for drivers who already hold a full licence but haven’t driven in a while and want to rebuild their confidence and skills. This course is tailored to each individual’s needs and can address any area of driving the student feels less confident about.

Flexible Scheduling — Evenings and Weekends

Universal Driving School offers lessons seven days a week, including evenings and weekends. This makes it practical for students who are working, studying, or have other weekday commitments. The school operates from 7:00 AM to 10:00 PM daily.

Defensive Driving for Regina Roads

Universal Driving School’s instructors emphasize defensive driving techniques — developing habits and awareness that keep drivers safe in all traffic conditions on Regina’s roads, not just during a road test. Students learn to handle everyday urban driving, intersections, lane changes, parking, and Saskatchewan’s seasonal road conditions.

SGI-Certified Instructors

All Universal Driving School instructors are fully SGI-certified and experienced. Student reviews consistently highlight the patience, clarity, and calm teaching style of the school’s instructors, with many students reporting they passed their Class 5 road test on the first attempt.
