The SGI 6×6 Course — Saskatchewan’s Mandatory Driver Education

In Saskatchewan, drivers aged 16 or older who are new to driving or moving up from a learner’s licence are required to complete the SGI 6×6 mandatory driver education course before taking their Class 5 road test. The course consists of 6 hours of in-class instruction and 6 hours of in-car training. Upon successful completion, students receive an official SGI 6&6 Certificate, which must be presented to the examiner on road test day.

Defensive Driving Skills for Regina Roads

Regina Professional Driving Inc. emphasizes defensive driving — developing habits and awareness that keep drivers safe in all traffic situations, not just during a road test. The school’s instructors work with students to build genuine competence behind the wheel: proper visual search patterns, safe lane changes, parking techniques, and handling the unexpected situations that real Regina roads present.

Brush-Up Lessons and Road Test Preparation

For drivers who already hold their learner’s licence and want to sharpen specific skills before their Class 5 road test, Regina Professional Driving offers flexible brush-up lessons. These sessions are tailored to each student’s needs — whether that means practising parallel parking, improving highway confidence, or running through the full road test route.

Winter Driving in Saskatchewan

Saskatchewan winters bring challenging road conditions that require specific skills. Regina Professional Driving offers winter driving lessons to help students build confidence handling ice, snow, and reduced visibility on Regina’s roads. Winter-specific instruction covers braking distances, steering correction, and situational awareness that standard driver education may not fully address.

Specialists in Nervous Drivers and Students with Special Needs

Regina Professional Driving is known throughout Regina for its ability to work with nervous drivers and students who have previously struggled to learn. Lead instructor Mr. Salah holds a Special Education degree from the University of Regina and has trained many students with autism and high driving anxiety who went on to pass their road test successfully. The school’s stress-free approach is consistently highlighted in student reviews.
