Steinbach has a permanent MPI Service Centre at 91 North Front Drive that runs Class 5 road tests Monday to Friday, and MPI also visits nearby Niverville and Morris from it. Here is what MPI publishes: the fee, the auto-fail rules, the training rule after three fails, and how to prepare without pretending to know the route.
Steinbach is a one-centre city for road tests. MPI's testing locations tool lists the Steinbach Service Centre at 91 North Front Drive for knowledge tests in all classes and road tests for Classes 1 to 6, and says the centre offers testing five days a week. MPI also lists Class 5 road testing in Niverville and Morris, both visited from Steinbach.
A live map centred on the Service Centre. Use it to plan how you'll get there and where you'll park. It is not a test route.
MPI does not publish Class 5 test routes, and MPI rules say driving instructors may not teach the specific routes used in actual road tests. Any page or school promising the exact Steinbach route is either guessing or breaking that rule. What you can prepare is the skill set an examiner marks: intersections with signals, turning lanes, stop signs, school zones, changing speed limits and parking.
Steinbach is a fast-growing city with busy commercial roads and quieter residential streets, so practise on a mix of both and at different times of day. Winter matters too: snow, ice and glare change how far ahead you need to look and how gently you should brake. Some Steinbach test candidates are also tested in nearby Niverville or Morris, so ask which site your booking uses.
Since November 14, 2024, MPI requires 5 hours of instruction from an MPI-permitted driving school after three failed Class 1–5 road tests, before you can book a fourth. Each further failure adds another 5 hours. The school confirms the hours on a Driving Instruction Verification form.
Steinbach schools offer packages built around this rule: Steinbach Driving School sells 5 lessons with an authorization letter for $350, and GetSetGO lists 5-hour MPI certificate training at $300. Compare them in the profiles below and confirm the school can issue the verification form.
No Steinbach-specific failure data is published. These are the patterns that follow directly from MPI's own auto-fail rules.
It is a test-ending exercise in MPI's published rules. Practise until your first attempt is reliably clean, in tight spots, not just an empty lot.
Serious violations end the test. A full stop, then a proper look, every time.
Shoulder checks before lane changes and turns are basic marked skills. Make them visible.
Speed that suits dry pavement can be too fast on packed snow. If your test falls in winter, practise in it.
MPI's testing tool lists these locations near Steinbach. It shows sites and hours, not appointment availability.

No. MPI rules state instructors cannot teach the routes used in actual driving tests. A good school teaches the skills the examiner marks instead.
Per MPI, the road test ends immediately. Because it can end the whole test, it's worth practising more than almost anything else.
You need 5 hours of instruction from an MPI-permitted driving school and a Driving Instruction Verification form before booking a fourth test. Each additional failure adds another 5 hours.
MPI lists a $35 road test fee. Any school car rental or lesson is separate.
